sister to sister

Current project that I'm in the process of working on. I'm designing two large cut out paintings that incorporate the usage of collage through a layering effect I've managed to achieve by cutting out multiple layers of masonite that I then stack on top of one another to achieve a certain feeling of depth, much like a relief sculpture. This project is based on the fact that I have twin sisters and touches on a few bases concerning the scientific understanding of twins relationships/developments in conjunction with 'old wives tales' and folklore associated with the spawning of twins. The two things I'm trying to touch base on with this project are, number one, the fact that although twins may look a like, that in no way means that they are one in the same. The second topic I chose to dive into was the scientific term "idioglossia" or "twin talk", which is talked about and discussed in both the scientific community and amongst wives and parents, such as my mother.
